Ingredients

Sun-Dried Tomato Spread

  • 2 oz cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 2 tbsp sun-dried tomatoes in oil, drained and chopped
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 4-5 dashes Tabasco sauce
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Sandwich Fillings

  • 2 tortilla wraps, 9 inch
  • 200 grams sliced turkey breast
  • 6 lettuce leaves
  • 6 cheese slices (cheddar, provolone, monterey jack, or havarti)

Instructions

  1. Make the sun-dried tomato spread: In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, chopped sun-dried tomatoes, mayonnaise, and Tabasco sauce. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well blended. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Prepare the tortillas: Lay out each tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the entire surface of each tortilla to create a flavorful base.
  3. Add turkey and veggies: Place 4-5 slices of turkey breast on each tortilla, leaving a small space on one edge to allow easy rolling. Then position the cheese slices and lettuce leaves along the center of the tortilla on top of the turkey.
  4. Roll the tortillas: Starting from the edge with the turkey slices, tightly roll up each tortilla towards the opposite side, making sure to keep the fillings secure inside.
  5. Chill before slicing: Place the rolled tortillas seam side down in a baking dish or wrap them tightly in plastic wrap. Refrigerate until ready to serve to help the pinwheels hold their shape.
  6. Slice and serve: When ready to eat, slice each rolled tortilla into 1-inch thick pinwheel pieces, yielding about 6-7 slices per tortilla. Optionally, secure each pinwheel with a toothpick and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best results, use tortillas that are pliable and not too dry to prevent cracking when rolling.
  • The sun-dried tomato spread can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated.
  • You can customize the cheese type to your preference or dietary needs.
  • Adding fresh herbs like basil or parsley to the spread can enhance the flavor.
  • These pinwheels are great for parties, picnics, or quick lunches.
