Ingredients

Matcha Mixture

  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 120 milliliters plain kefir or milk (1/2 cup)

Oat Base

  • 40 grams rolled oats (1/2 cup)
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 100 grams plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon collagen powder or vanilla protein powder (optional)

Strawberry Yogurt

  • 3-4 medium strawberries, hulled (approximately 70-80 grams)
  • 100 grams plain Greek yogurt

Toppings

  • Extra fresh strawberries, sliced
  • Chia berry jam for swirling on top (optional)

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the matcha: In your jar or a small bowl, whisk the matcha powder together with the kefir or milk until smooth and lump-free, ensuring the matcha is fully dissolved for a pleasant texture.
  2. Make the oat base: Add the rolled oats, chia seeds, honey, vanilla extract if using, and Greek yogurt into the jar with the matcha mixture. Stir thoroughly until well combined. If desired, stir in collagen or vanilla protein powder. Seal the jar tightly and refrigerate overnight or for at least 4 hours to allow the oats and chia seeds to soften and flavors to meld.
  3. Make the strawberry yogurt: If you’re not using pre-made strawberry yogurt, blend the hulled strawberries with plain Greek yogurt until you achieve a pink, fruity yogurt. You can leave it slightly chunky depending on your texture preference.
  4. Assemble: Spoon the matcha oat mixture into the bottom of a serving jar or glass. Layer the strawberry yogurt on top, and finish with sliced fresh strawberries and a swirl of chia berry jam if desired for extra flavor and visual appeal.
  5. Enjoy: Serve immediately straight from the fridge for a cool, refreshing breakfast that requires no cooking.
