Ingredients

Espresso Mixture

  • 1½ cups espresso or strong brewed coffee
  • 1 tablespoon pistachio butter
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Pistachio Mascarpone Cream

  • 1 (8-ounce) tub mascarpone cheese
  • ⅔ cup pistachio butter (from 1 (7-ounce) jar)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1¼ cups heavy cream (cold)

Assembly

  • 1 (7-ounce) package ladyfingers
  • ½ cup chopped pistachios (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Espresso Mixture: In a shallow dish, whisk the warm espresso with 1 tablespoon of pistachio butter and 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar until fully combined. Set the mixture aside to cool to room temperature.
  2. Make Pistachio Mascarpone Cream: In a large bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese together with the remaining pistachio butter, ½ cup sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. In a separate bowl, whip the cold heavy cream to stiff peaks. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fluffy and well combined.
  3. Assemble the Tiramisu: Stir the cooled espresso mixture to ensure even flavor. Briefly dip each ladyfinger into the espresso mixture and arrange them in a single layer at the bottom of an 8-inch square dish. Spread half of the pistachio mascarpone cream evenly over the ladyfingers using an offset spatula. Repeat the process with a second layer of espresso-dipped ladyfingers and the remaining cream.
  4. Chill and Serve: Cover the dish and refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 6 hours or preferably overnight to allow flavors to meld and the dessert to set. Before serving, garnish the top with chopped pistachios for a crunchy texture and nutty finish.

Notes

  • Use freshly brewed espresso or strong coffee for the best depth of flavor.
  • Do not soak ladyfingers too long to avoid sogginess; a quick dip is sufficient.
  • For a dairy-free version, consider substituting mascarpone and cream with vegan alternatives, though texture may vary.
  • Refrigeration time is key for a firm and flavorful tiramisu; avoid skipping this step.
  • Chopped pistachios add a lovely crunch; reserve some for garnish to enhance presentation.
